This is a great album. IMO not as good as the first, but still a keeper. Oz Fox of Stryper plays with them on Sister Blue.Ransom was a staple of my early christian rock experience. Lisa Faxons vocals was one of the only female fronted sounds that was not cheesy but strong and precise. Not to mention she was very easy on the eyes.Oh man, do I love 'Windows of my heart'! What a song, worth the price alone. Stellar peice of melodic rock. The rest of the album has it's ups and downs. A few good melodic rockers, some solid hard rockers. I like it. Best thing is, I suspected there might be christian elements, but did not know for sure until the very last song. Discreet... I like it. Good female fronted melodic rock band. I should also say, some awful backing vocals too.A decent rock album, but not very heavy. This recording has Lanny Cordola written all over it. Ransom's first record was straight up glam metal. The guitars are given a goofy sound on some of these songs and there are other Cordola influences here (like sitars on many songs - a Cordola trademark)An awesome band and a great example of what heavy metal is all about. Lisa Faxon's vocals remind me of Lita Ford, but with a lot more power and conviction.Maybe one of my fave christian melodick rock productions but the music is not at the same level,IMO.I like Lisa Faxon voice and musicians too,they have the potentiality but they show good things in few tracks.Some decent tunes and riff but nothin'more.For their production,vocals and potentiality I give them, Not to be confused with British metal team Ransom Decreed, this band like Ransom Decreed, are led by bluesy-voiced lass. American ransom have improved considerably on their rather tepid debut album and might well attract purchasers both from the kind of Christian metal devotee who'll be flocking to Metal Meltdown this year and the fan of the heavier end of rock bored by so many AOR teams wimping out. Ran­som's female lead is strong in the Wendy Kaiser mould, there are two or three strong numbers like the extremely hard-hitting "Exit (Euthanasia)" and the opening. All in all an album which I genuinely expected little of is still on my decks two months on.
