BIOGRAPHY/REVIEW:
(Fearscape@myspace.com)
The band packs a powerful punch with an incredible wall of sound. The band's downtuned, death/thrash/groove metal combination will have even the most stubborn of listeners banging their heads. The Whipping Post Released in 2004!,Currently regarded by many as the premier Christian Metal band in Australia, Fearscape have built a reputation for unique brand of progressive blackmetal. Combining the sheer brutality of black and death metal with an infusion of elegant progressive music, Fearscape have also built a reputation in the secular club scene in Australia. With performances alongside the likes of Arcturus ( featuring members of Mayhem and Dimmu Borgir), Astriaal Australian 2006 metal acts of the year Anarion and Transcending Mortality, Fearscape have earned the respect of the darkest crowds with devastating live performances..

REVIEW:(Fearscape )
Taking elements from death metal and black metal, Fearscape sound almost enchanted. With the addition of the classical guitaring, they have orchestrated some dramatic metal. The Vocals vary from wretched screams to clean singing. While the screaming works, the singing isn’t as effective. This band doesn’t come across with aggression; rather they play some inspired metal. What I like is the mixing of the Drums. Especially during the Thrashy Faster parts , or at least fall way out of the mix. The Guitars take president through out the entire album, but even more so during the fast parts. I like what Fearscape have developed as their sound, but the mixing is horrid at times. Overall the album is a little too soft for me to really appreciate, but at times the Black Sabbath styled melodies shine through, and that’s what makes this album work. Overall the “Sleeping in Light” achieves the mood that Fearscape have set out for, but their music needs a heavy injection of aggression. Take notice near the end of the title track “Sleeping in Light”, they pummel out the Double Bass, and finally the album has made some impact. Shorter songs would also help this album out,With influences ranging from Opeth, to Metallica, to maybe even a little touch of metalcore, Fearscape romps through a somewhat long album of hard-hitting metal tunes(http://www.holymetalrob.com/)
