Rex Carroll (ex-Whitecross)along with Robert Sweet and Tim Gaines (ex-Stryper) and vocalist Jimi Bennett, got together and put out this melodic metal album shortly after the breakup of Stryper,About The Demo Here This Demo Contain 3 song CD was put out before the release of the first CD. It contains a track entitled 'Holding On' that can't be found anywhere else.

About The Album (The Fall)After a three year hiatus, King James return with their second album to date. Consisting of the same core members made up of Jimi Bennett (lead vox)And(Rex Carroll (ex-Whitecross)Guitarist Rex Carroll, ‘The Fall’ features Scott Banks (bass/vox) with skin being split between Dave Geer and Michael Feighan.Produced and recorded by Rex, helped out by one Tim Bushong (Lovewar/The Channel Surfers)The overall tone of the album is tight; showcasing some superb musicianship. Both the drums and bass mix well together, forming a solid platform upon which Rex builds.Compared to the band’s self titled debut album, ‘The Fall’ adequately realises the pent up raw intensity of sound that ‘King James’ hinted at. It has taken me a few spins to appreciate this disc, however, I cannot help but feel that this sound is a little dated and that Jimi’s vocals, whilst passionate, don’t always hit the mark.Overall though, a good album.Ah, now that's more like it. Heavy and crunchy, the way metal is suppose to be played. Even Jimi's vocals are heavier, with a bit more bite than on the self titled debut. Rex Carroll and Jimi Bennett are still on board, but Robert and Tim jumped ship a long time ago. This one had been released by a number of different record companies.

About KING JAMES-KING JAMES album, rock album but such are the vagaries of review copy supply. It's everything we hoped for in the light of the original Whitecross breaking into fragments while bringing in guest guitarists of the calibre of Dann Huff certainly beefs up the axe attack. Best cuts are "Hard Road To Go" and "Desperate" but throughout there's plenty of diversity in an album that will please metal heads and rock fans looking for a spiritual album with grit.Produced by Rex Carroll Executive Producer: Dez Dickerson Additional vocals: Russ Daughtry, Leia Thomas & Kristy Smith Strings: Arnie Roth (violin); Kim Scholes (cello)Violinist Arnie Roth is the same man who played violin with Mannheim Steamroller. While the drumming is unmistakably Robert Sweet, the music sounds nothing like Stryper. Actually with the exception of the first song ("Hard Road to Go")the best song on the disc, the rest of the album is surprisingly mellow, retaining more of an early 80's pop metal or AOR vibe. Part of this comes from Jimi's vocals that sound more like a classic rock/Glen Hughes style than an aggressive metal style. "Sunrise is Rio" is a very cool acoustic song. This disc went quickly out of print and is now hard as heck to find.
