This is Paradox from San Antonio, Texas! Many of the songs listed here were from our unreleased concept album "The Wrath". There is rumor of getting the band back together for an upcoming reunion show in mid-March in San Antonio and doing an "official" release in Europe of "The Wrath". In the 90's, Paradox shared the stage at Sneakers, Rock Island, The Backroom and Austin Opra House with bands like Blue Oyster Cult, Guardian, Lynch Mob, Kings X and many others. The Wrath was never released commercially. The album's line-up included Anthony DeLaGarza on drums and Jave Patterson on Bass/Vocals, taking the place of Phil and Ephran who left the band to pursue secular endevours. This line-up also included Roy Salas on rhythm guitar/vocals. While we were duely impressed by our contempoaries like X-Sinner, Guardian and Stryper, we were also impressed by the musicianship of secular bands like Queensryche, Fates Warning and prog-masters Kansas. Therefore, this album has a decidedly dark, heavy and progressive sound to it, unlike Ruler and Power and Glory. We recorded this album after coming back from spending a week at Goldmine Studios in Nashville working on a new version of "We Are The Temple". We were frustrated with the hard work on that song and the poor outcome and decided to go back "home" and do an entire album ourselves (you can listen to the "overproduced" "...Temple" on Brave New Music, a compliation by Starsong Recordings). Anyway, the band broke up after recording The Wrath, with Jave going on to play in T.K.O. and Anthony going on to play in what was to become The Union Underground (then Boyzen Heat). There has never been any approval to market and/or sell this album commercially, so if you either ordered The Wrath and got ripped off, or got a burn from HM Magazine, the band never saw any of the profits of their labor. If you would like to hear some of the tracks, they are available to listen to at www.myspace.com/paradoxsat , along with contact info to get a burn from an actual former member of the band. The first song entitled 'Banner at War' is only found on this cassette. The rest of the songs are found on much later released 'The Wrath' CD. I dig it all !!!
