Love Life are another outfit from America's Blonde Vinyl stable who play driving hard rock in the ilk of Guns 'n' Roses and the like. The standard 4-piece line-up churn out number after number of average cliche rock. There is little reflection of the band's faith in the album as most of the lyrics are in the "Oh girl, how I love you" vein. I found it hard to sit through the whole thing, but I persevered in the hope of finding something different, and indeed I did stumble over a good cover version of "A Hard Day's Night". This is an OK rock album but there is nothing special to make it stand out from the crowd.

As you read in CR18, this team were previously Love Life and this is a huge improvement on that version of the band's one Blonde Vinyl outing (unreleased here). Our article revealed that the team spent three months in the studio cutting Tear Not' (to give you some idea of differing British CCM budgets, the last album I produced was recorded and mixed in two weeks!). But I digress. This is tough mainstream metal with the Pakaderm brothers.Jointly release by Word Records and John & Dino Elefante's label Pakaderm Records. Produced by John & Dino Elefante. This is essentially the same band as Love Life, they just changed the name...refraining from their tendency to make their productions identically Petra-ish. The band describe their sound as "Seattle crunch rock with a melodic edge" which sums it up. I liked it, John. This obscure disc is actually quite good, and darn hard to find. Fear Not's sound is in the, The Brave vein. The music is excellent; each song has a distinct sound and a strong commercial hook that would have pushed this band into the limelight had they had a bigger label to back them and some more exposure. Unfortunately they broke up soon after this disc was released with guitarist Chris Howell joining Red Sea, another short lived band.Vocalist Larry Worley also sang on Robert Sweet's solo disc "Love Trash."
