Bare Bones is the band Mike Lee formed with guitarist Kai Reiss after leaving the band Barren Cross in 1989.With Mike Lee singing, the sound is still reminiscent of Barren Cross, but the music is less Iron Maiden-inspired power metal and more groove oriented. Still heavy metal, but with more experimentation. Kept hearing rumors of a follow-up album, but I have never seen another releaseThey were funny and just hanging out with the crowd while playing music that they loved. The album is a compilation of songs made by two guys who love to write, play, and have fun! I need to listen to this CD again soon..I love this album. And to me it does sound some like Barren Cross. I think anyone that likes Barren Cross would like this album. Very cool sounds. Some goof around lyrics at times, but overall a great album(http://www.holymetalrob.com/)
