BIOGRAPHY:
Brent Bourgeois Began performing on Piano in Dallas Clubs when he was only 13. He moved to California five years later with friend Larry Tagg and in 1984 formed the Pop Band Bourgeois Tagg with Drummer Rick Walker and Guitarist Lyle Workman. The group released a self-titled album in 1986 and Yoyo in 1987 (produced by Todd Rundgren). The single "Mutual Surrender (What a Wonderful World)" reached the charts in 1986, and the following year "I Don't Mind at All" hit the Top 40. Bourgeois Tagg's future looked bright, but Brent Bourgeois Became Addicted To Drugs And Alcohol. When drinking buddy Charlie Peacock began going to church, he followed and became a Christian soon after. Problems in the band were then magnified by Bourgeois' lyrical tendencies toward Christianity, and the band broke up. Brent Bourgeois recorded an eponymous album for Charisma in 1990, and hit number 32 in the pop charts with "Dare to Fall in Love." An album for Capitol followed, but he decided to join a Christian Contemporary label, Reunion Records. His first religious album, Come Join the Living World, was released in 1995 and produced by Bourgeois with Charlie Peacock. No sloganeering, musically creative, and execellently produced. This is an album worth waiting a decade for Brent to make. Unfortunately, it was "too" religous for mainstream radio and not "Christian" enough for Christian radio. But it's both their loss. There's few recordings that still sound fresh after a 100 listenings, but this one could compete with anything on the market today. Unfortunately, or ultimately fortunately, his label recognized how good Brent is as an artist and has hired him to manage their whole stable of artists in hope that his artistry will rub off. Hopefully, he can slip away and still record again, though. The messages are incredibly anointed and full of truth. My favorite is "Blessed Be The Name(from Job)." And " Perfect Harmony " That Often Have Part On My Radiostation CHRISTIANROCK AND HOLYMETAL-This CD has truly inspired me to press in to a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Jesus. It's great that jazzy music that is well done can draw you by the Spirit of God. Don't underestimate this CD, it is mightily anointed and I can't say enough about it. I like it very much.Brent Bourgeois not only has a way with words, he also has a wonderful style of delivering them to the masses. "Come Join The Living World" is a very personal album of joy, love, fear, and warning. With tracks like "Perfect Harmony," we hear a man longing to find that seemingly unreachable oneness with Jesus Christ. The wonderful "Blessed Be The Name," culled from the book of Job, gives us a person who is unwilling to turn away from God despite numerous tragedies in life. The most magnificent treat on this album, however, is the harbinger of things to come for those who "ride the fence." That song is "God Is Not Dead." It's one of the most haunting, sometimes scary songs that I've ever heard. It is the best song on this album in my opinion. Other highlights include "Total Surrender," "All Is Well," and "Come Home To Me."(http://www.holymetalrob.com/)
